What the study evaluated

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority evaluated autonomous PV cleaning robots under desert conditions. The reported study tested five robots and found cleaning efficiencies of 69% to 99%, while also identifying reliability and safety issues involving batteries, ingress protection, corrosion, alignment and UV degradation.

The mounting and O&M interface

Cleaning automation must fit the actual module construction, tracker or fixed-tilt geometry, row spacing, access route and maintenance regime. Repeated contact, frame alignment, drainage, cable protection and safe access can affect both the robot and the mounting package.

What buyers should request

Ask for battery certification, thermal management, enclosure protection, abrasion testing, fault reporting, spare parts and a field method for proving yield recovery without module damage. A field study is evidence, not a universal performance guarantee.
