Factory launch precedes commercial shipments
Translucent Energy announced the launch of a **1.2 GW** solar module assembly plant in Summerville, South Carolina. The company told pv magazine that commercial shipments are expected from December, while its flexible N-type lines are designed to handle multiple wafer sizes and module architectures. Module availability and mounting compatibility are separate checks
Factory capacity is not a substitute for product qualification. Before a module is specified, confirm the exact module data sheet, certification status, frame and dimensions, clamp zones, allowable loads, traceability, allocation and delivery terms. The approved structural design must use the final module interface, not a provisional product family.
Buyer impact
For EPC procurement, lock the module-to-rail and clamp interface early enough to avoid redesign after purchase orders are released. Apex can evaluate the documented module inputs with its ground mounting systems and mounting accessories on the actual project basis.
