The proposal targets hourly renewable coverage
Spain is consulting on a proposed regulation for data centres above **1 MW**. PV Tech reports that it would require at least 80% of hourly electricity consumption to come from renewables, with new renewable capacity matched through self-consumption or power-purchase agreements. Source: PV Tech.
The policy is not a construction instruction
The measure remains under consultation. Even if adopted, a percentage target does not determine PV capacity, roof availability, land rights, storage duration, grid connection or the chosen project-delivery model. Those inputs should be resolved before a structural scope is released.
Buyer impact
For data-centre opportunities, model hourly demand, new-build renewable capacity and storage interfaces before committing a PV bill of materials. Apex can review the site and module inputs for a commercial rooftop mounting or ground-mounted concept on a project-specific basis.
