Australia's WEM Tender 11 Seeks 1.8 GW of Renewable Generation

Australia's Capacity Investment Scheme Tender 11 is open for 1.8 GW of renewable generation in the Wholesale Electricity Market, with bids due 22 October 2026.

Large renewable bids need a traceable layout, site and delivery basis before fixed-tilt or tracker mounting scope is priced.

Tender 11 is open in the WEM

Australia's Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water lists Capacity Investment Scheme Tender 11 as seeking 1.8 GW of renewable generation in the Wholesale Electricity Market. Bids opened on 27 August 2026 and close on 22 October 2026. The department says tender guidelines, eligibility and merit criteria, and a draft Capacity Investment Scheme agreement are available through the tender administrator.

What the capacity signal does and does not say

The 1.8 GW figure is a procurement target, not a list of awarded solar projects or a confirmed equipment volume. It nevertheless gives developers and delivery teams a live deadline to make site assumptions, grid interfaces and execution plans reviewable. A bid should avoid presenting preliminary capacity as a construction-ready design.

Buyer impact for mounting procurement

For solar proposals, the structure package should be based on documented module geometry, topography, drainage, geotechnical status, corrosion category, design load cases, access constraints and installation sequence. Bidders can distinguish confirmed inputs from allowances and identify when foundation testing, detailed layout or grid information must be closed before long-lead steel is released.

Next step for bidders

Create a single design-basis register that travels from bid to EPC award. Apex utility-scale solar mounting solutions can be assessed against verified soil, loading and layout information, whether the concept uses fixed-tilt structures or trackers.
