Solar Sunshot Round 2 reaches its full-application stage
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency lists 30 October 2026 as the full-application deadline for Solar Sunshot Round 2. The program used an expression-of-interest stage, so the date applies to applicants invited forward under the round rather than to a new open submission. ARENA says the round is assessed as an open, merit-based process and may amend its timetable.
What the deadline means for the solar supply chain
This is a manufacturing-funding process, not a project award or an equipment purchase order. It does not confirm a demand volume, supplier selection or Apex participation. It is nevertheless relevant to procurement teams because a credible manufacturing proposal has to connect production capability with quality control, qualification, logistics, working capital and customer requirements.
Buyer impact for mounting and EPC teams
When component or module supply assumptions are linked to a funding pathway, buyers should separate announced capacity from contracted output. For a mounting package, retain module dimensional tolerances, coating and material requirements, certification status, packaging, lead times and change-control assumptions in the design and procurement record. That helps prevent a preliminary market signal from becoming an untested installation commitment.
Next step for procurement reviews
Use the deadline as a prompt to refresh the evidence behind key supply assumptions, rather than to assume an award. Apex solar mounting accessories and structure options can be reviewed against the verified module, site and delivery basis of an applicable project.
